Meet Our Staff

Carmin Long
TMTL

Carmin Long | Director
My own story of being lost in addiction and being given an opportunity to experience a wonderful sober community in Sacramento, California that was the inspiration to start Truly Motivated. God was definitely up to something when the crazy thought came to open recovery homes in Yelm (where I had grown up at since I was fifteen.)
God just kept opening doors, bringing resources of all kinds and excited people who caught the vision and the wind was at our backs. While we have adapted our program and have added along the way to better meet the needs of the people we serve, the vision is the same, a recovery community with a sense of belonging where transformation and healing happen — “better than well” — a state of flourishing that we believe is possible.

Steve Simpson
Men’s Program, Staff Coach

Steve Simpson | General Manager, Men’s Program, Staff Coach
I serve as staff at Truly Motivated because this program first served me. As a graduate of Truly Motivated, I experienced firsthand the life-changing power of a Christ-centered environment, accountability, and genuine love. Through this program, God restored my hope, strengthened my faith, and equipped me with the tools needed to walk in purpose and freedom.
Now, I am grateful to give back by serving others with a heart for them to have the same opportunity that was given to me. I desire for every resident to experience the hope, healing, and transformation that comes through faith in Christ and committed support. Having walked this journey myself, I serve with compassion, understanding, and patience—knowing that change is possible because I am living proof.
Serving at Truly Motivated is more than a role to me—it is a calling. I am thankful to be part of the work God is doing in the lives of men seeking lasting change.

Shane Hall
Staff Coach

Shane Hall | Men’s Program, Staff Coach
My name is Shane Hall. I am one of the staff coaches here at TMTL. Having been a participant and graduate of the program, I know how TMTL can change your life. Using my lived experience and sharing in my growing faith to help others grasp this thing called recovery is one of the most rewarding things in life I could ask for.
Being able to serve in any capacity is rewarding, but given the opportunity to do it at Truly Motivated is nothing short of a blessing. The road to recovery can be hard at times but walking along with someone who has walked in your steps can be the helping hand to succeed. This is the reason I love to serve at TMTL.

Cassie Waddill
Staff Coach

Cassie Waddill | Women’s Program, Staff Coach
My name is Cassie; I am a staff coach here at TMTL. I have lived in many transitional homes and have a testimony of healing from significant trauma. It was God’s grace that saved me and His same grace that has matured me. When I had been built up by love, He had begun preparing me to love others, which is exactly what I get to do and be a part of here, it is such a blessing, honor, and gift I intend to steward well. This is more than a job to me; it is a calling.

Lamont Paulino Porter

Lamont Paulino Porter | Men’s Staff Coach
My name is Lamont and I suffered from the spiritual brokenness of addiction for 28 years. Through the grace of God I was blessed to have the opportunity to come through the program here at Truly Motivated in 2025. I got to experience first-hand the unique community setting that helped me change my life.
And today, as a result of my new found life, I am honored to have the opportunity to help guide beautiful people in early recovery to transform their lives. Today my life has purpose which is more valuable than silver or gold. God still performs miracles every day, and Truly Motivated is living proof of that. Words cannot describe how special this place is and I am grateful to serve as a part of such a precious community.
