After serving eight years in prison, I was given the opportunity to finish my last twelve months at TMTL. Not knowing what to expect, my desire to be free once again got the best of me and I accepted the invitation. After arriving at TMTL I soon learned that no matter how much wreckage and pain I caused to myself and loved ones as well as the community I have lived in for 40+ years, there was still hope and forgiveness in my future. During my ten months at TMTL I have attained full time employment, had my driver’s license reinstated, made payments on legal financial obligations, and reconnected with my son and mother in ways I never dreamed possible. Most importantly, today I have a relationship with God. The mercy and grace he has shown to me after the choices I have made and the things I have done in my past is unbelievable. Today, I choose healthy relationships instead of running from them. Godly people can encourage us and hold us accountable. No one can stand alone for long in the recovery process.
